The Grizzly Tale

My mother's father was Benjamin Franklin Bradley. He was born about 1885 in Crawford, Florida (Nassau County), married Mabel Agnes Crews in 1917. They had 6 children. He was married once before to Nelly Pringle (I don't know where) and they had 4 or 5 more children, among them Willard and Ezell.

In about 1930-32 he committed suicide by rigging a gun in a fence, tying a string around the trigger, and doing himself in. As horrible as that is, family lore says that his father did the same thing in the same way. An uncle of Ben's (his father's brother) also committed suicide by jumping out of a pine tree with a rope tied around his neck, thus hanging himself.

With this wonderful history, you may wonder why I would even care? Well, genealogy is my hobby, and I can't let a bone lie without bothering it.
