Bibliography

  • Wooden Ships - Iron Men, by J.G. Braddock, Sr.: Wooden Ships - Iron Men is a chronicle of four master mariners--David Cutler Braddock, his son John Braddock, his father-in-law William Lyford Sr., and his brother-in-law William Lyford Jr. The exploits of these men along the coasts of South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and The Bahamas during the Colonial and Revolutionary periods helped shape Southeastern history. The tips of two of the best known resort islands in Southern waters, New Providence, Bahamas and Hilton Head in South Carolina, are named for brothers-in-law, David Cutler Braddock and William Lyford Jr., and justly so.The book, which is in many bookstores and gift shops in the Southeast and The Bahamas, is 300 pages, case bound, dust-jacketed, fully indexed, and has a bibliography.
