
The January 2012 AIGS General Meeting will be held Tuesday January 17, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Fernandina Beach Police Dept. Community Room, 1525 Lime Street. Our Speaker is Ann Staley, and her Topic is “The Family Search Website – Demystified” The Family Search Website has undergone many changes in the last several years and, in fact, is still being modified. It is made up of many parts and each one is essential to the research of a genealogist. If you have not used every part of it join us as we explore the wonderful possibilities! Ann will bring us up to date on the changes and among the topics she will explore, discuss, and show examples of are the following:
Our speaker for the January 17, 2012 meeting of the Amelia Genealogical Society is Ann Staley from Jacksonville. She is an instructor, consultant, trip leader, and frequent lecturer at local, state, and national genealogical conferences and has given many programs in recent years for various groups interested in genealogy including AIGS. Ann was raised in Mobile, Alabama and has been researching her family since 1980 from Alabama, Mississippi, and Virginia to France, England, and Germany. She is currently the Education Chairman and Webmaster for the Jacksonville Genealogical Society: Vice-President of the Genealogical Speakers Guild; on the faculty of The National Institute for Genealogical Studies ; and has been an associate of the Board of Certification of Genealogists since 2000. Her enthusiasm for genealogy is contagious and her programs are always both very stimulating and informative. Her specialties include: Methodology, Research Sources, Computer Resources,Vital Records and their Sources, Conference Planning, and Assisted Research Trips to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. |
